Trade Bodies PEGI is a European Company who rate games with age ratings and says what kind of language/content it includes it helps consumers make decisions when buying the game if its suitable for them. PEGI now rates games in 30 different countries. PEGI labels can be found on the front or back of a product and they are put into these age groups 3,7,12,16 and 18. The higher the age rating the more violent, scary or sexual the game is. They also have black box labels these are known as descriptors which basically says what the game includes e.g. Fear,Violence and Discrimination and why its got that particular age rating. PEGI gave my product a rating of 3 Games given this rating are suitable for all ages. Some violence in a comical context is acceptable. The user should not be able to associate it with real life. The game should not include anything to frighten children and no bad language. They also gave my game the Online Descriptor because Forza 6 has an online mode.

Products & Audiences: Distribution And Promotion

Distribution For Forza Motorsport 6 the company Turn 10 took care of the distribution you can buy the game at pretty much any high-street game retailer. The game is also available on PC with steam. The places they distributed it to were High-street retailers like Game, Argos, CeX and HMV. You can also get some online versions of the game for example the apex version from the Microsoft store. You can also get the game on steam. Promotion You can see ads for Forza Motorsport 6 on the TV you could also watch the trailer on the Forza website. As for the print-ads you might see them in popular game magazines being advertised on a page. They could also be advertised on billboards. Forza Motorsport also has their own twitter which they used to announced the game and promote it and also show the trailer's for the game. They also had more ads to announce their DLC. I think they promoted their products these ways because they some of the best ways to promote it for example the TV i...

Media Products And Audiences - Target Audience

I think for my product Forza Motorsport 6 the main target audience is 10-50 year olds and people how are into games because i think the game might be hard to control for kids and i don't think older people be in to this sort of game because it's a racing game. I think the game is more aimed at boys but i think it's suitable for girls as well. The main cover/poster for the game shows a car with a blurred background to show it's going fast so they're aiming that at younger people and not older people. The trailers are also fast paced as there showing sport cars racing and the music is also fast paced. So also the game cover/poster and the game trailer are also aiming their product towards younger people. The Lifestyle of my target audience are people who will spend most of their time playing games and their likely job might be something along the lines of gaming e.g. Game Designer. They also might not have a job because they might not be employed. The product prov...

Media Products & Audiences - Production Process

Concept- The concept of the game is the main idea they have before they actually start making the game for example they can choose what genre the whole game will be e.g. Racing, Shooting or Platform. Some companies might also choose to make a sequel to one of their previous games and choose that in their concept. Pre-Production- Pre-Production is basically when they come up with an idea of what game it will be and people like the Producers, Designers and Programmers will come together to start coming up with ideas on how the whole game will play and ideas for a title screen a main menu and a pause menu etc. During this process they might also brainstorm their ideas for their game. They could also think about what console to bring the game out on and if they include characters and design them. They may also make ideas of a logo for the game and they will also have to design the environments and the level design. Production- The Production stage starts after the Pre-Production is...

Products & Audiences: Content Analysis

Image
Narrative- The footage shows someone in a race in Prague. POV- The point of view is in third person because it shows the back of the car so the person watching has a view from behind the car. Put you can also view in first person which makes it better and more realistic and has a better impact on the player and makes them feel more involved in the game. Dimension- The game is a 3 dimensional game. Background/Level Design- The background has a lot of buildings and the race takes place in Prague and they drive through the city and they also drive across a river it's also day time when they're racing as well. The sun is also setting in the background. It's also based on a real city so it will feel more realistic on the player. Also on the screen there's a timer there also a number which tells you what position your in and there's a speed meter which tells you how many miles per hour your going at. The game also has a night and rain environment. Sound- The music...
